1. Compare to Real Flowers

Before you rush to buy flowers, research real flowers first. Pay attention to the shape of the flower and check the texture of the stem. Including the shape of the leaves and what the inside of the flower looks like? Only then can you make artificial flowers more like real flowers.

2. Choose Quality Flowers

Once you know what you want, you can steer clear of any less realistic options that give fake flowers a bad name.

Quality artificial flowers will use innovative materials to make them more realistic. Fake lilies and roses may use latex to give them soft petals that feel real. Artificial poppies should have soft stems and tiny hairs, just like real flowers. Fake sunflowers should have a detailed center and lots of tiny disc-shaped petals.

3. Arrange your flowers

Arranging artificial leaves and gently bending the stems will help you create the look of artificial plants and flowers. An easy way to get started is to use photos of the real thing as a guide.

4. Remove any creases
