Regular Dust Removal

Artificial flowers accumulate dust when they are displayed and used as home decoration. Light dust deposits can be removed by gently patting or wiping with a clean cloth.

For stubborn dust in crevices, you can use a hair dryer on the lowest setting. For hard-to-clean dust accumulation, a quick vacuum will do the trick. But be careful because it may ruin the delicate designs on artificial flowers.

Citrus Solution

If you have an empty spray bottle and a lemon or two, a DIY citrus solution is a viable option for maintaining and cleaning artificial flowers. Squeeze one or two lemons into a spray bottle and mix in water. Shake until the acid is completely dissolved, then spray on the flowers. However, do not spray the solution before regular dusting. Doing so will only cause dust to accumulate.

Salt Treatment

While this method may seem unwelcome and unusual, it works wonders! To do this, take out your artificial flowers, place them in a resealable container/bag, and fill it with coarse salt.

After sealing the bag or putting on the lid, you can start shaking it to loosen dust, dirt, and grime. If you don’t like using salt for this treatment, cornmeal is a great substitute.

Soap and Water

If your artificial flowers are not hand-wrapped and come with fragile details, washing them with a soap and water solution will clean them thoroughly. Avoid using warm water as this can damage the integrity of the flowers.

At the same time, do not scrub the flowers to avoid damaging them. After dipping the flowers in the soapy water solution, rinse and gently dry them with a towel.
